Senegal’s government has appointed BMCE Capital Afrique, a branch of Morocco’s BMCE bank, as one of the financial advisors for the process of issuing a third telephony license in the country.
Goldman Sachs has been appointed as the other financial advisor. The advisors’ role is to assist the government with the selection of a new telecommunications operator through an international tender. The Telecom Regulation Agency (ART) of Senegal intends to award the third fixed and mobile telephony license by January. The license will be for providing fixed and mobile services as well as Internet.
