Telenor and Egypt's National Telecommunications Holding Corporation (NTC) announced that they are joining for a bid to obtain a mobile license in Egypt.
Telenor and NTC said they would submit an application by May 4. The auction is for a third mobile license in Egypt. A date for the award has not yet been established.
"Telenor has extensive experience in running mobile operations in different countries, but it is nevertheless vital to have a proper local partner. NTC and Telenor supplement each other very well," said Jan Edvard Thygesen, a Telenor executive.
