MII urges lower rates for farmers
Hong Jingyi, a vice-director with the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) believes that China's telecom operators should reduce rates for telecom services provided to rural users to benefit Chinese farmers.

Hong said that MII is studying measures to reduce the high costs of telecommunications construction in the 'New Countryside' program. MII is also planning to give priority to the demands of rural areas when allocating number resources and frequency resources to telecom companies.
