The government of Cameroon says it wants to sell the stake to either a single telecommunications operator or to a consortium led by an operator. The deadline for preliminary bids is March 17. The due diligence period is expected to then last until June.

Cameroon Telecommunications has a mobile phone subsidiary. France Telecom is already present in Cameroon’s mobile market through Orange Cameroon.
